About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building next-generation investment infrastructure. Our client operates at scale, serving platforms across the UK with expansion underway into European markets. They are backed by a major UK investment group and hold B Corp certification, reflecting their commitment to sustainable growth.

We're seeking a Platform Engineer to join their Cloud Resilience team in London. This is a hybrid role requiring occasional travel to Bath and Edinburgh a couple of times per month. You'll be architecting and maintaining the cloud infrastructure that empowers engineering squads to build and run their own services, treating the platform as a product with engineering teams as your customers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and maintain scalable, secure infrastructure in AWS using Terraform
• Design cloud-native solutions using MongoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, and other AWS services with a strong focus on serverless architecture
• Contribute to incident response efforts, production readiness, and reliability initiatives across engineering squads
• Enhance observability and platform insight through actionable alerting and data visibility using Datadog
• Continuously improve CI/CD processes with GitHub Actions, reducing friction in delivery pipelines
• Collaborate with software engineers working in Node.js/TypeScript to ensure secure, performant, and resilient applications
• Mentor engineers and champion DevOps culture and best practices across teams
• Own platform-level outcomes and contribute to architectural decisions

What We're Looking For

• Pragmatic platform engineering experience in regulated environments, balancing delivery with compliance and operational excellence
• Confidence working with JavaScript/TypeScript-based applications and collaborating closely with development teams
• Strong knowledge of databases like MongoDB and Postgres, with ability to diagnose, design, and optimize for scale and resilience
• Deep commitment to observability - building alerts that engineers can act on, not just monitoring systems
• Fluency in AWS best practices, infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, and CI/CD tooling like GitHub Actions
• Experience with architectural decisions and willingness to own platform-level outcomes
• Comfort with autonomy and self-direction in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow through on ideas and embrace change and ambiguity

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: £55,000 - £75,000 dependent on experience, reviewed annually.
