Operations delivery lead – Pension

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech client in their search for an Operations Delivery Lead – Pension to join their growing pensions operations team in Bath. This is a hybrid role requiring two days per week in the office.

This position offers genuine scope to build and scale operational infrastructure from the ground up. You'll lead the operational delivery of SIPP and ISA products, establishing the processes, controls, and team structures needed to support rapid growth while maintaining excellent customer outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic thinking with day-to-day operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end performance of SIPP and ISA operations, ensuring delivery of operational SLAs and customer outcomes
• Lead, coach, and develop a growing team of operations specialists, building a culture of ownership and client-first delivery
• Build workforce planning models, capacity forecasting, and resource allocation strategies to support volume growth
• Drive operational readiness for new client onboarding and product launches
• Act as escalation point for incidents, coordinating response, communications, root cause analysis, and remediation
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to design scalable operational processes with robust controls built in from the outset
• Support regulatory reporting activities and ensure appropriate operational oversight aligned with Consumer Duty, CASS, and pension-specific regulatory obligations
• Create and embed a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence

What We're Looking For

• Operational leadership experience within platforms, wealth management, or fintech organisations
• SIPP operational expertise with strong understanding of pension administration processes
• Proven track record of delivering improvements by partnering with Product, Engineering, and Risk teams to strengthen controls and enable scale
• Experience leading and developing operational teams through periods of growth and change
• Demonstrable experience designing scalable operational processes and operating models
• Strong understanding of how the regulatory environment shapes pension and investment operations, including Consumer Duty, CASS, and ISA-specific regulatory obligations
• Ability to thrive in complexity: calm, decisive, and client-focused when issues arise
• Data-driven mindset with experience using MI and operational metrics to drive decisions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across teams and external partners
• Comfort with ambiguity, rapid growth, and fast-paced environments
• Strong ownership mentality with ability to shape your own progression and follow through on ideas

Pay

The client offers a salary between £50,000 and £70,000 depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, 6% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, enhanced parental leave, £750 learning budget, and various health and wellbeing initiatives.
