Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their collaborative engineering team. This is a remote or Düsseldorf-based position where you'll help build and operate reliable cloud platforms that enable teams to deliver exceptional products. You'll work at the intersection of development, operations, and architecture, solving complex technical problems and transforming ambiguous challenges into practical, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions and make pragmatic trade-offs across reliability, scalability, security, and cost
• Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and maintainable cloud platforms and services on AWS
• Improve automation, infrastructure as code, deployment processes, observability, and operational efficiency
• Work with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and event streaming technologies
• Break complex technical initiatives into smaller workstreams and deliver value incrementally
• Investigate recurring issues and create lasting solutions rather than short-term fixes
• Share knowledge, mentor engineers, and promote collaboration and shared responsibility across teams
• Lead technical initiatives and own meaningful architectural decisions that improve platform reliability and cost efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Several years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE, or related fields
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS and cloud-native infrastructure
• Professional experience with Go (Golang), ideally for automation, platform tooling, or backend services
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, and event streaming
• Demonstrated expertise in automation, infrastructure as code, continuous delivery, observability, security, and reliability practices
• Proven ability to make sound architectural decisions and clearly explain technical trade-offs
• Experience leading technical initiatives and delivering complex work incrementally
• Strong collaboration skills with a track record of mentoring and supporting colleague growth
• Ownership mindset and commitment to continuous improvement and long-term solutions
