Fullstack Engineer, Frontend-leaning (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital publishing technology organization based in Berlin. Our client operates a modern, cloud-native platform serving millions of users across web and mobile applications. They work with national media companies and enterprises that require scalable, high-performance infrastructure for content distribution and document generation.

Our talent team is seeking a Fullstack Engineer with frontend expertise to join their engineering organization as soon as possible. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex technical challenges around rendering, layout, typography, and document generation while working across the full technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain fullstack applications and services across frontend and backend systems
• Build high-performance React/TypeScript interfaces and systems that transform structured content into print-ready documents
• Solve complex technical problems involving layout, pagination, typography, rendering, and document generation
• Develop automated tests and tooling to evaluate rendering quality and prevent visual regressions
• Collaborate with Product, Design, AI, and Engineering teams to translate complex requirements into robust user-facing solutions
• Contribute to architectural decisions, code quality standards, and continuous improvement of the engineering stack

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Strong expertise in TypeScript and React (or equivalent modern frontend framework)
• Proven experience building complex, interactive frontend applications beyond standard CRUD interfaces
• Comfort working fullstack, including contributing to backend services and APIs
• Genuine interest in rendering, layout, typography, or document-generation challenges
• Familiarity with canvas-based or DOM-heavy editor UIs

Preferred:

• Experience with paged-media, typesetting, or document-rendering libraries and engines (e.g., headless Chromium + CSS, Vivliostyle, PrinceXML, WeasyPrint, SILE, pdf.js)
• Background in print/document production, PDF generation, or paged-media rendering
• Experience building visual regression testing or rendering-quality tooling
• Working knowledge of Python sufficient to read and understand services
