About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential multinational organization with operations across Europe. Our client is strengthening their finance team in Berlin and seeks an experienced Financial Accountant to coordinate year-end closing, regional reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations. This role offers exposure to cross-border finance functions and collaboration with teams across multiple markets.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate preparation of German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and year-end closing processes
  • Oversee accounting and finance operations across regional branches, managing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles
  • Ensure accurate recording of daily sales, collections, and financial transactions
  • Prepare and submit financial reports and analyses for management, ensuring compliance with tax and corporate obligations
  • Manage payments for suppliers, services, payroll, and commissions in accordance with company policy
  • Maintain accurate financial records in the ERP system (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Oracle)
  • Monitor inventories and fixed assets; support audits and financial reviews
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls
  • Coordinate with regional and corporate finance teams to maintain transparency and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in Germany
  • Hands-on experience coordinating German annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss) and year-end closing
  • Strong knowledge of German accounting regulations (HGB) and tax compliance
  • Experience working with external tax advisors and auditors
  • Experience in finance operations, financial planning, budgeting, and reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual)
  • ERP experience (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Datev, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional and regional collaboration
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken; Chinese language skills are an advantage
