Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in the energy-management sector, and our talent team is seeking a Full Stack Kotlin/Java Developer to join their agile product development efforts in Cologne.
In this role, you will work alongside product owners, UX/UI designers, and a motivated engineering team to drive the evolution of cloud-based energy solutions. Your day-to-day includes:
- Designing, testing, maintaining, and continuously improving microservices and APIs, both independently and collaboratively
- Contributing to DevOps architecture, programming, and testing workflows
- Advising product management on technical feasibility and working closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into implementation
- Engaging in pair programming, code reviews, and prototyping to deliver high-quality software and grow your skills
- Participating in cross-functional rituals such as developer community sessions and architecture boards
- Exploring new ideas during monthly innovation days and helping shape the product roadmap
What We're Looking For
- University degree in computer science or a comparable qualification in software development
- Proven experience as a software developer, ideally in a SaaS environment
- Hands-on exposure to microservices and cloud infrastructure
- Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin (Spring framework preferred), or alternatively deep JavaScript/TypeScript skills with modern frontend frameworks (React, Redux)
- Familiarity with agile tooling such as JIRA and Confluence for sprint planning and documentation
- A quality-focused mindset, analytical thinking, and enthusiasm for emerging technologies
- Startup mentality: motivated, hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
- Good German and very good English communication skills
The tech environment includes Kotlin/Spring, TypeScript/React, PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB, Kubernetes/Docker, GitLab CI, and Kafka. Experience with any subset of this stack is valuable.
