About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential insights and strategy firm seeking a VP, Strategy Consulting to build and lead a consulting practice that transforms research-backed insights into executive-level growth advisory services. This is a unique opportunity to shape how a mature research organization delivers integrated strategic consulting to Fortune 500 clients.

You'll establish vision, frameworks, and capabilities for a new consulting function while serving as a trusted advisor to senior marketing, strategy, and innovation leaders. This role combines practice-building, executive client engagement, and thought leadership in a collaborative, employee-owned environment.

Location: Remote (United States) or hybrid if near the firm's headquarters

Responsibilities

• Define and launch a strategy consulting practice, including operating model, frameworks, quality standards, and talent strategy
• Build and grow a multidisciplinary strategy team within a highly collaborative culture
• Serve as executive strategic advisor on growth, customer, innovation, competitive, and organizational decisions
• Coach team members to translate complex research and analytics into executive-ready recommendations and implementation guidance
• Bridge the firm's research, analytics, and AI capabilities to higher-value integrated strategic advisory engagements
• Expand executive relationships beyond traditional insights organizations into C-suite and senior leadership
• Develop scalable advisory offerings and establish thought leadership presence
• Represent the firm in executive presentations, conferences, and strategic discussions
• Partner with business development to shape opportunities from initial conversations through implementation
• Recruit, mentor, and develop diverse consulting talent and external experts
• Travel up to 20%

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 15+ years in strategy and growth consulting for Fortune 500 companies
• Proven track record building or scaling a consulting practice, capability, solution portfolio, or multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated ability to develop enduring executive client relationships and generate significant consulting revenue
• Experience integrating consumer insights, market research, analytics, and other evidence into business and growth strategy
• History of leading multidisciplinary teams spanning strategy, research, analytics, innovation, and activation
• Track record moving from insights activation to growth strategy and implementation advisory

Skills and Attributes:

• Strategic systems thinker who connects customer, market, competitive, and organizational insights into practical business strategies
• Executive facilitation and stakeholder management expertise; comfortable simplifying complexity for C-suite audiences
• Strong commercial acumen and experience driving pipeline, revenue, and account growth
• Solid understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
• Experience coaching and developing colleagues while leading through influence
• Curiosity about markets, consumer behavior, business strategy, and emerging technologies including AI

Preferred:

• Graduate degree in Business, Strategy, Economics, Organizational Leadership, Design, Public Policy, or related field
• Experience in Travel & Hospitality, Technology & Platforms, Media & Entertainment, Financial Services, Retail, or Healthcare
