About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software consultancy in Germany that builds custom cloud-native applications for enterprise clients. They are seeking a (Senior) Kotlin / Java Fullstack Engineer with Backend Focus who embraces agentic coding practices and AI-assisted development workflows.

This is a full-time, fully remote role available throughout Germany, starting immediately.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend applications in cloud environments using frameworks such as Spring Boot, Micronaut, or Quarkus with attention to sustainable architecture
• Contribute either frontend capabilities (Vue.js, React, or Angular) or infrastructure/CloudOps expertise (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines)
• Apply agentic coding techniques as a core part of your development process, using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot with context files, rules-based workflows, and critical review of AI-generated code
• Ensure application quality through comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Identify improvement opportunities in codebases and provide constructive feedback during code reviews
• Make and document technical decisions with clear rationale
• Collaborate directly with clients in a consultative capacity

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience developing backend applications with Kotlin or Java in cloud environments
• A second area of strength: either modern frontend frameworks (Vue.js, React, Angular) or infrastructure/DevOps (Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation)
• Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools and methodologies, including plan-driven or specification-driven AI workflows
• Commitment to code quality and testing practices across the stack
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and document architecture choices
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
• German language proficiency at C1 level or higher
• Good English language skills
• Openness to learning new technologies as project requirements vary

Typical technology environment includes: Kotlin/Java backends, modern JavaScript frameworks, Azure/GCP cloud platforms, GitLab CI/GitHub Actions, Terraform/OpenTofu, Kubernetes, and AI coding assistants.
