About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential infrastructure software organization in a search for a Senior Product Marketing Manager. Our client is building next-generation control plane technology for cloud and AI infrastructure, with deep roots in the open-source community and a rapidly growing commercial product line. This role will own go-to-market strategy for their AI inference portfolio, bridging the narrative between community-driven projects and enterprise solutions.
As Senior Product Marketing Manager, you will define how enterprise buyers understand a technically sophisticated platform while maintaining the trust and alignment of a global open-source community. You will work across positioning, competitive strategy, launches, sales enablement, and executive-level messaging in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Own positioning and messaging for AI inference products, including message architecture, value frameworks, and proof points for every claim
- Develop and maintain competitive and market intelligence on the AI infrastructure landscape; arm field teams with defensible points of view on category evolution
- Execute end-to-end product launches on a cadence measured in weeks, from narrative development and press coordination through analyst briefings and sales enablement
- Build persona and journey maps for CIOs, VPs of Engineering, VPs of AI, and platform engineering teams who evaluate the product
- Create sales enablement that sellers actually use: plays, discovery questions, objection handling, cost and ROI models, customer stories
- Provide input on pricing and packaging grounded in how enterprises budget for and procure AI infrastructure
- Manage the relationship between open-source project narrative and commercial product differentiation
- Serve as a named spokesperson: brief analysts, prepare executives, and represent the company on stage, in podcasts, and in community settings
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 8+ years in B2B enterprise software product marketing, with significant experience on infrastructure, developer platforms, or data products sold to technical buyers
- Proven enterprise go-to-market execution that contributed to closed revenue; ability to describe deals your messaging influenced, buyer roles involved, and measurable outcomes
- Genuine technical depth with working knowledge of AI inference, cloud infrastructure, modern software deployment and operations, and awareness of the Kubernetes ecosystem
- Experience marketing both an open-source project and a commercial product within the same organization; understanding of community trust, the open-core model, and contributor dynamics
- Zero-to-one experience in an emerging category—taking a new, technically ambitious product to market before analysts had a name for it
- Strong writing skills; you ship copy yourself
- Comfort with speed and ambiguity; ability to operate on release cycles measured in weeks in a rapidly evolving market
- Credibility with both engineers and senior sales leadership
Nice to Have:
- Direct experience marketing AI or ML infrastructure, including inference serving, GPU capacity, or MLOps
- Familiarity with the CNCF or PyTorch ecosystem
- Hyperscaler or cloud marketplace go-to-market experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Training in a value messaging discipline such as Command of the Message or equivalent framework you have operationalized
- Experience as the first or only PMM on a product, building the function from scratch
