Senior Privacy Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-established remote-first technology company focused on user privacy and online protection. Our client seeks a Senior Privacy Engineer to lead complex privacy initiatives across their product suite. This is a fully remote position open to candidates worldwide.

As our talent team works with this confidential organization, you'll have the opportunity to own major privacy technology components, from search infrastructure to tracker detection systems. You'll work with modern languages including Go, Node.js, and Python to build pragmatic solutions that protect millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own complex privacy engineering projects from proposal through post-mortem analysis
• Design systems that enhance product features while maintaining strict privacy standards
• Build and maintain tracker detection and blocking technology
• Implement privacy features including web tracking protection and email protection systems
• Participate in privacy review and audit processes for all product developments
• Take ownership of major privacy technology components, ensuring their ongoing maintenance and improvement
• Mentor other engineers as the team grows, supporting their technical and career development
• Collaborate across teams to ensure privacy principles are upheld in all initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Proven ability to lead high-impact, complex engineering projects from start to finish
• Hands-on experience building privacy solutions in an engineering capacity (tracker blockers, differential privacy, or similar technologies)
• Deep technical understanding of online privacy threats and existing protection mechanisms
• Strong skills in tackling ambiguous problems, proposing innovative solutions, and executing effectively
• Proficiency in Go, Node.js, Python, or Perl
• Excellent communication abilities—you can validate technical decisions and explain them clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience taking full ownership of projects and involving others strategically when needed
