About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the semiconductor design software sector. They are seeking a Principal Thermal Solutions Engineer to lead their European technical team in Paris or Grenoble. This is a strategic leadership role where you will build and mentor a high-performing team of thermal engineers while driving adoption of advanced physics simulation technology among Europe's top engineering organizations.

As a trusted technical advisor, you will leverage deep simulation expertise to help enterprise customers validate and optimize complex hardware designs. You will guide analyses of thermal management systems, fluid flow dynamics, and heat dissipation challenges across both steady-state and transient scenarios. This role combines technical leadership, customer engagement, and strategic influence over product development.

This is a remote role with moderate travel primarily within continental Europe, and occasional collaboration with teams in North America.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and scale a high-performing team of thermal engineers across Europe, setting technical direction, hiring, mentoring, and driving field execution
• Collaborate closely with sales teams to lead technical discussions, scope proof-of-concept evaluations, and deliver compelling product demonstrations to prospective enterprise customers
• Guide customer engineering teams through evaluation phases by overseeing simulation setup, running complex test cases, and interpreting results to prove technical and business value
• Own customer enablement through onboarding, deployment, and account expansion, providing senior technical guidance, structured training sessions, and advanced troubleshooting
• Identify customer pain points and workflow bottlenecks, partnering directly with internal product and engineering teams to transform field feedback into critical new features
• Represent our client at major industry conferences and semiconductor events, engaging with key prospects through technical presentations and live platform demonstrations
• Maintain strong understanding of competitive technologies, industry trends, and market positioning to communicate technical differentiators effectively

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related technical field
• Expert-level mastery of commercial simulation software (Flotherm, Ansys Icepak/Fluent, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, or equivalent)
• 15+ years of hands-on experience in thermal management and cooling solutions—either as a practitioner running simulations or as a technical account manager for commercial physics simulation software
• Deep familiarity with semiconductor electronics packaging, advanced packaging technologies (2.5D/3D IC), or foundry ecosystems
• Prior experience in dedicated customer-facing roles with strong ability to build trust and manage engineering client relationships
• Practical programming experience using Python or C++ to automate workflows or parse simulation data
• Proven track record of managerial or technical leadership experience, with ability to scale, mentor, and drive execution across engineering teams
• Elite interpersonal and communication skills, with proven ability to distill complex physics and simulation results into clear narratives for both technical panels and business executives
• Fluency in English and French

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with structural mechanical simulations (FEA/stress) and/or Electrical Signal Integrity and Power Integrity (SI/PI) workflows
• Direct experience commercializing technical software—ideally electronic design automation (EDA) or CAE simulation tools—into major semiconductor and electronics enterprises
• Prior experience in technical pre-sales, application engineering (FAE), or strategic technical sales environments
• Ability to rapidly adopt and champion next-generation, physics-based workflows and AI-assisted design or simulation tools

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: €120,000 – €130,000 annually
