Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Java)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Java) to join their distributed engineering team. This is a 100% remote, full-time position open to candidates across the United States.

Our client operates enterprise-grade systems at scale, and this role will own the complete engineering lifecycle—from translating business requirements into technical architecture through production deployment and operational support of cloud-native services.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems
• Own the end-to-end engineering lifecycle from requirements gathering through production deployment
• Translate business requirements into robust technical designs and production-quality code
• Deploy and support cloud-native services across their full operational lifespan
• Design and implement microservices architectures with appropriate service decomposition and observability patterns
• Build clean, idiomatic RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and Java 11/17
• Develop front-end applications using React and participate in full-stack feature delivery
• Contribute to CI/CD practices, code reviews, and release management workflows

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience building production-grade enterprise applications
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, and system design principles
• Advanced working knowledge of Java (versions 11 and 17) and Spring Boot framework
• Production-level experience designing and operating microservices architectures, including inter-service communication and observability patterns
• Proven experience developing front-end applications using React
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server), including query tuning and schema design
• Solid experience with CI/CD tooling and Git-based version control workflows
• Hands-on experience deploying applications to at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• U.S. work authorization (Citizens, Green Card Holders, EAD Holders, and H-1B transfer candidates encouraged to apply; new H-1B sponsorship not available)

Preferred:

• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar streaming platforms
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
• Exposure to distributed system design principles (eventual consistency, CAP trade-offs, idempotency, saga patterns)
• Experience with Angular or Vue
• Experience writing automation tests and contributing to test-driven development practices
