About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential construction technology client in their search for a licensed Residential Building Inspector to perform virtual inspections across Florida. This is a remote position offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge inspection technology that is transforming how residential construction projects are completed and approved.
This role is ideal for an experienced inspector who wants to leverage their expertise in a modern, digital-first environment while maintaining the highest standards of code compliance and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform virtual residential inspections and plan reviews in licensed disciplines (building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical) using video, photos, and digital submissions
- Identify defects, hazards, inconsistencies, or non-compliance issues in accordance with the Florida Building Code and applicable regulations
- Accurately document inspection findings using approved reporting systems and communication channels
- Communicate inspection results, required corrections, and professional recommendations to contractors, building owners, and internal teams
- Advise stakeholders on code violations and compliance pathways
- Provide technical guidance and support to inspection team members relating to field challenges
- Participate in cross-training initiatives to broaden technical knowledge and enhance team performance
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the inspection process
- Maintain current knowledge of jurisdictional requirements and Florida Building Code updates
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Active State of Florida Residential Inspector License in one or more disciplines: Building (BN), Electrical (EN), Mechanical (MN), and/or Plumbing (PN) - required
- Active International Code Council Certification (ICC) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in residential or commercial inspections, construction, and/or plan reviews
- Strong working knowledge of the Florida Building Code and applicable jurisdictional requirements
- Experience with virtual or remote inspections strongly preferred
- Ability to accurately interpret construction documents, plans, and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to meet inspection turnaround deadlines
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with internal teams
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional remote workspace
- Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and continuous learning
