Senior Design Manager, Data Centers – Federal and Special Projects

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential data center organization in their search for a Senior Design Manager to lead federal and special project initiatives. This is a strategic role for an experienced design professional who will own end-to-end delivery of complex critical infrastructure projects while serving as a client-facing technical leader.

Our talent team is working directly with the hiring organization to identify candidates with deep data center design expertise and federal clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete design delivery strategy for major facility buildouts, campus phases, and complex regional programs from early site preparation through commissioning and handover
• Direct multidisciplinary consultants and coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, controls, security, and operational systems across buildings and infrastructure interfaces
• Drive resolution of technical, commercial, and program risks while providing design reporting and governance for budgets, schedules, value engineering, and change controls
• Serve as principal design partner across internal divisions including Construction, Operations, Security, and Sustainability teams
• Mentor Design Managers and elevate regional design practices across the organization

What We're Looking For

• Typically 10+ years of experience with substantial accountability for complex data center or mission-critical capital projects
• U.S. Citizenship required with ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance
• Experience implementing ICD 705 requirements into facilities strongly preferred
• Deep multidisciplinary understanding of critical-facility systems, consultant governance, codes and standards, permitting, and compliance frameworks
• University degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Strong technical leadership skills with ability to drive execution through influence and cross-functional coordination

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $123,500 - $164,700 based on experience and qualifications. Our client also offers comprehensive health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, generous paid time off, and flexible work arrangements.
