Senior Cloud Consultant – Data & AI Engineer (f/m/d, 4-Days-Week), German Speaking

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AWS consulting organization with a growing Data & AI practice. They are seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant specializing in Data and AI Engineering to take ownership of end-to-end client projects in Hamburg. This is a German-speaking role offering a 4-day work week with full-time impact.

As a senior technical leader, you will architect and deliver scalable AWS solutions for data platforms and generative AI systems, working directly with clients as a trusted technical advisor from initial workshops through production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and generative AI/agentic AI solutions
• Ensure security, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency aligned with AWS Well-Architected Framework
• Make and document architectural decisions and trade-offs that enable team collaboration
• Translate business pain points into measurable technical requirements and clear objectives
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions on AWS Bedrock using frameworks like Strands Agents and Bedrock AgentCore
• Build agent architectures with tool use, MCP-based integrations, multi-step orchestration, and defined scope boundaries
• Implement human-in-the-loop patterns including approval steps, escalation logic, and review loops
• Establish evaluation and quality assurance processes for LLM and agent systems
• Support technical pre-sales activities, project scoping, and statement of work creation
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to clients, translating complex technical concepts into business value
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to internal standards, best practices, and training programs

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years in cloud, data, software, or ML engineering, including 2+ years owning end-to-end architectures
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services and solutions
• Solid experience in data engineering and ETL architecture design
• Proven experience delivering generative AI and agentic AI projects
• Excellent Python programming skills
• Fluent English and professional-level German language skills

Preferred:

• AWS certifications
• Experience in pre-sales or technical leadership roles
• Background in consulting or client-facing project delivery
• Familiarity with AWS Connect
• Solid experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or comparable)
• Experience with LLM customization, fine-tuning, and distillation
• Practical MLOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
