Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Frankfurt, Germany

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company seeking a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition to join their distributed team. This is a fully remote position based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Our client is building petabyte-scale datasets to power next-generation AI models. This role sits at the critical intersection of infrastructure engineering and research, responsible for discovering, acquiring, and processing massive volumes of audio data to support model training operations.

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate new sources of audio data into the organization's ingestion pipeline
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, currently built on GCP and managed with Terraform
• Collaborate with research scientists to optimize the cost/throughput/quality balance, delivering richer datasets at larger scale and lower cost
• Partner with AI leadership to shape the dataset roadmap supporting next-generation consumer and enterprise products
• Build and maintain large-scale data processing workflows
• Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development
• Strong proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
• Expertise in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP experience is a plus)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows preferred
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt quickly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort working in a fully distributed, asynchronous environment
