We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of their Azure-based data platform. This is a strategic role centered on migrating existing data pipelines to Microsoft Fabric and strengthening the reliability of curated, business-ready data systems.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the long-term data architecture vision, aligning it with business strategy and organizational goals
• Lead the migration of data pipelines to Microsoft Fabric, ensuring reliable data promotion to the curated golden layer for business consumption
• Design and evolve data lake and Delta Lake-based architectures on Azure Cloud Services, balancing performance, scalability, and cost considerations
• Lead the evaluation and selection of technologies, frameworks, and standards for data architecture implementation
• Establish and promote best practices for data management and governance across the organization
• Collaborate with leadership and business stakeholders to ensure the data architecture meets evolving business needs
• Identify and anticipate complex technical challenges in the data platform, proposing innovative solutions
• Provide advanced technical guidance to data development and architecture teams, reviewing design decisions and resolving complex implementation issues
• Ensure data architecture decisions comply with applicable data security regulations and standards
• Mentor team members by sharing knowledge and supporting their technical growth
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with technology partners and suppliers
• Represent the data architecture function in technical and strategic forums

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or above) for direct interaction with international stakeholders
• Extensive hands-on experience with data platform architecture, including data modeling and ELT processes at scale
• Proven experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Azure Cloud Services and Microsoft Fabric
• Experience with data lake design, implementation, and Delta Lake-based architectures
• Demonstrated ability to guide teams through complex technology migrations and architectural changes
• Strong mentoring and technical leadership skills, with experience supporting less experienced team members
• Ability to explain complex data architecture concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred qualifications:

• Relevant Azure certifications related to data platform architecture or Microsoft Fabric
• Experience defining data governance frameworks and data security compliance standards
• Experience partnering with technology vendors and strategic suppliers on data platform initiatives
• Background presenting technical or architectural strategy in cross-functional or executive forums
