Senior Software Engineer – Hydrawise (Mexico)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the irrigation technology sector. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team supporting a global platform that manages watering systems for millions of locations across 130+ countries, processing billions of events monthly. This is a fully remote position based in Mexico.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Write, test, debug, and analyze code while handling feature change requests
• Collaborate with Technical Support, Product Management, and Firmware teams to troubleshoot and resolve application issues
• Work with a distributed development team on feature enhancements, coordinating code releases and bug fixes
• Lead feature development and internal projects, ensuring alignment with customer requirements
• Mentor other Software Engineers on code quality and industry best practices
• Proactively monitor and analyze application metrics to identify and resolve issues before they impact customers
• Provide functional and operational support on assigned applications, systems, and technologies
• Translate technical information for non-technical stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• Minimum seven years of progressive software development experience
• Proven experience developing or maintaining significantly sized applications
• Ability to read, understand, and modify third-party codebases
• Advanced proficiency with computers and network systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong knowledge in at least one of: Object Oriented Programming, Functional Programming, Database Normalization, or Model View Controller architecture
• Ability to work flexible hours to collaborate with a global team
• Valid passport or ability to obtain one for occasional domestic and international travel

Preferred experience:

• HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, React Native, PHP, Python
• IaC, MySQL, MQTT, IoT
• Amazon Web Services: Aurora RDS, EC2/Linux, Kubernetes, Serverless
• Strong experience with React Native, ReactJS, PHP, or AWS
