About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential nonprofit organization in their search for a Manager, Institutional Giving. This U.S.-based role offers the opportunity to manage meaningful funder relationships while working remotely on Eastern Time. You'll own a portfolio of foundation and corporate partners, coordinate complex grant cycles, and serve as a bridge between development and program teams.

This position reports to the Director, Institutional Giving and combines relationship management, grant writing, project coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. You'll work with colleagues across development, programs, finance, and communications to sustain the funding relationships that make the organization's work possible.

Responsibilities

Institutional Funder Portfolio & Relationships

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of institutional funders, including foundations, family foundations, and corporate partners
  • Build and sustain relationships through regular communication, meetings, and strategic stewardship
  • Identify opportunities and risks within the portfolio, including renewals and alignment issues
  • Represent the organization in selected funder meetings and external events

Proposals, Reports & Stewardship

  • Draft and manage grant proposals and reports with narrative and financial components
  • Translate program data and outcomes into clear, accurate funder-facing narratives
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and background research for funder engagement
  • Draft stewardship communications including donor updates and impact highlights
  • Ensure funder-facing materials accurately represent communities and partners

Project Management & Systems

  • Own and maintain tracking systems for proposals, reports, deadlines, and portfolio status
  • Maintain accurate institutional giving records in Salesforce
  • Develop and maintain the annual institutional giving communications calendar
  • Promote consistent use of templates and processes, identifying improvements when needed

Cross-Team Coordination

  • Coordinate with programs, finance, and communications teams to gather content for funder materials
  • Make cross-team requests clear and actionable with appropriate lead time
  • Serve as development lead for selected organizational events and special projects
  • Surface gaps or assumptions rather than filling them with unsupported conclusions

Prospect Research & Portfolio Analysis

  • Conduct research on prospective institutional funders, assessing capacity and alignment
  • Contribute portfolio data and observations to pipeline analysis and growth planning
  • Raise questions when funding terms or requirements may create organizational tradeoffs

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Relevant institutional giving experience managing grants, funder relationships, proposals, reports, or closely related work in fundraising, grantmaking, partnerships, or program management
  • Relationship management skills with ability to build trust, follow through on commitments, and navigate competing interests
  • Strong written communication for different audiences, translating complex information clearly
  • Collaborative approach that proactively engages stakeholders and shares context effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and adjust plans when conditions change
  • Detail orientation with high standards for accuracy in written and data-based work
  • Equity-minded perspective that examines assumptions and considers power, access, and representation
  • Sound judgment and discretion with confidential information and organizational decisions
  • Comfort with CRM systems, project management tools, spreadsheets, and presentation software (Salesforce, Asana, Excel, PowerPoint or comparable tools)
  • Connection to social impact work and interest in funding relationships that support communities

Work Arrangements

  • This role is remote within the United States, working Eastern Time business hours
  • Occasional domestic travel required (up to two times per year)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $90,000 - $95,000 per year
