Home Instead is recruiting a compassionate Live-In Care Assistant to deliver dedicated support to older adults in the Folkestone & Hythe District area. This is a full-time, live-in position offering the opportunity to provide meaningful, everyday care within a client's own home environment.
About the Role
As a Live-In Care Assistant, you'll become an integral part of your client's household, offering hands-on support across all aspects of daily living. Working within the Folkestone & Hythe District, you'll enable vulnerable individuals to remain independent, safe, and engaged in their own homes. Your role bridges practical care with genuine companionship, creating a secure presence that clients and their families can rely on completely.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including washing, grooming, and dressing support
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals suited to dietary requirements
- Support with medication management and health monitoring
- Manage household tasks and maintain a clean, safe living space
- Offer social engagement, conversation, and companionship
- Encourage participation in hobbies, outings, and activities
- Respond to care needs at any time during the day or night
- Report observations and maintain accurate care records
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or recognised equivalent qualification
- Valid Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) clearance
- First Aid certification (or commitment to completing training)
- Demonstrable experience in health or social care settings
- Empathy, patience, and genuine care ethic
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work autonomously with professional judgment
- Authorised to work in the United Kingdom
