About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud database organization in their search for a Principal Product Manager to lead product development and delivery for their flagship cloud platform. This is a remote position available anywhere within the United States.

Our client is a rapidly growing company in the real-time analytics and data warehousing space, serving thousands of customers ranging from AI innovators to global enterprises. As Principal Product Manager, you will shape the product roadmap and work closely with engineering, customers, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge cloud-native database capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the product roadmap for a cloud-native database platform, focusing on capabilities such as multi-region replication, distributed query execution, fault tolerance, storage tiering, and schema evolution
• Collaborate with engineering teams to prioritize and deliver improvements to the core database engine, storage layer, and query optimizer
• Engage directly with customers to gather insights through interactions, feedback sessions, and market research that guide product decisions
• Partner with design, marketing, operations, and sales teams to support feature launches, contribute to technical content, and shape product positioning
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and inform strategy
• Serve as the primary point of contact for product-related communications, managing stakeholder expectations and maintaining clear alignment

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 8+ years of product management experience with a strong background in cloud-based SaaS products
• Deep familiarity with database systems, distributed systems, or real-time analytics platforms strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with SQL and strong understanding of query execution, indexing strategies, partitioning, and performance tuning
• Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or columnar databases
• Understanding of modern data infrastructure including data lakes, ETL pipelines, CDC, and data orchestration frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with engineering on technical topics such as schema management, query planning, storage engines, and schema design
• Experience designing and delivering features like database replication, consistency models, and backup/restore workflows
• Strong leadership skills with ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Bonus: Experience scaling open source technologies or prior startup experience

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai will be discussed during the screening process and is competitive with senior product management roles in the cloud database sector. The client organization offers typical starting salaries in the range of $169,000–$225,000 USD for standard US locations, with premium market ranges of $188,000–$250,000 USD for locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City Metro Area. Final compensation depends on experience, qualifications, location, and business needs.
