Laboratory Technician I

Eurofins is hiring a Laboratory Technician I in Des Moines, IA, to support our testing and laboratory operations. As a Laboratory Technician I, you'll play a key role in our production laboratory, ensuring accurate testing and timely sample processing for our diverse client base.

About This Position

This is a full-time position based in Des Moines, IA. You'll join Eurofins' laboratory team in a hands-on technical role where precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality are essential. Working in our Testing & Laboratory department, you'll support critical analytical work that directly impacts our clients' results and our company's reputation.

Core Duties

• Prepare samples and specimens according to standard operating procedures and testing protocols
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment with proper calibration and documentation
• Conduct routine testing and analysis under the supervision of senior technicians and laboratory managers
• Record, organize, and verify test data accurately, maintaining detailed laboratory notebooks and electronic records
• Perform quality control checks to ensure results meet Eurofins' standards and regulatory requirements
• Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and materials, including proper storage and safety protocols
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and contributing to process improvements

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED or higher education a plus)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all laboratory work
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures precisely
• Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Competent in basic mathematics and measurement conversions
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team environment
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new laboratory techniques and technologies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to document findings clearly
