Process Engineering Project Technical Leader – Microelectronics

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential industrial water treatment organization seeking a Process Engineering Project Technical Leader to oversee ultrapure water, wastewater, and reclaim treatment solutions for microelectronics clients.

In this role, you will lead a team of Process Engineers working on complex flow sheets with multiple unit processes. Your time will divide approximately 60% into communication, organization, and coordination, with the remaining 40% dedicated to hands-on technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert.

Your core duties include:

• Aligning Process Engineering teams to a unified strategy, deliverables list, and schedule for ultrapure water and wastewater treatment projects
• Designing complete treatment solutions using advanced technologies including biological treatment, ammonia removal, membrane systems (UF, NF, RO), ion exchange, UV treatment, and gas-transfer membrane processes
• Owning the overall Process Flow Diagram, mass balance, and process guarantees across all interconnected unit processes
• Serving as the lead technical contact with clients and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Identifying and managing technical risks related to treatment processes, flow variations, and achievement of output requirements
• Troubleshooting technical issues using data analysis and observations during design, commissioning, and operation phases
• Engaging in piloting, benchmarking, and treatability studies to validate design approaches
• Providing training and mentorship to Process Engineering team members
• Representing technical expertise through customer presentations and industry conference participation

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, or Mechanical preferred) or other technical discipline with equivalent experience
• 10+ years of process engineering experience with emphasis on process design and/or operation of water, wastewater, or waste treatment systems
• Demonstrated experience with ultrapure water, wastewater, and reclaim treatment processes specific to the microelectronics industry
• Proven ability to design complete integrated treatment solutions and integrate multiple unit operations into comprehensive flow sheets
• Leadership experience with ability to align teams, communicate vision, mentor others, and make effective decisions under evolving conditions
• Exceptionally strong written and oral communication skills for customer-facing presentations and internal collaboration
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suite
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred:

• Professional Engineer's License

Pay

The compensation range for this position is $117,000 - $130,000 USD annually, based on experience, qualifications, and market conditions.
