Payroll Analyst

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to support their US-based operations. This role is responsible for accurate payroll processing, compliance with federal and state regulations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You'll partner closely with HR, HRIS, Finance, and business leaders to deliver exceptional payroll expertise and customer service. Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple US business units, ensuring accurate hours, earnings, fringes, and deductions according to company guidelines
• Assist with payroll funding, balancing, and reconciliation activities
• Partner with the Tax Accountant on tax research and filings
• Support General Ledger entries, reconciliations, and research
• Collaborate with the HRIS team on payroll configuration, testing, implementations, and system upgrades
• Serve as subject matter expert to ensure compliance with payroll regulations including withholdings, payment of wages, garnishments, child support, and voluntary deductions
• Collect, coordinate, and enter payroll data while maintaining related payroll records
• Resolve escalated and complex employee issues requiring managerial intervention or cross-functional coordination
• Provide backup support to the payroll team for other pay groups
• Respond to and assemble data for various external audits
• Set up, process, and respond to child support and wage garnishments
• Handle verifications of employment and unemployment notices
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiencies
• Troubleshoot payroll and tax issues to identify and implement resolutions
• Verify and process employee purchase rebates

What We're Looking For

• Minimum three years of experience in payroll data processing and analysis
• Payroll processing experience in a large multi-state, multi-company environment
• Workday experience is required
• Experience with UKG Timekeeping (Kronos Dimensions) preferred
• Canadian payroll experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with solid analytical capability
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills and customer service focus
• High attention to detail and ability to stay organized in a fast-paced work environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and lead or contribute to cross-functional initiatives
• Associate's degree or applicable college coursework preferred
