About This Position

As a Pipe Fitter with Dexterra in Beltsville, MD, you'll be a skilled tradesperson responsible for the installation and maintenance of complex piping systems. This role demands precision, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to safety. You'll use industry-standard tools and techniques to ensure every system meets exacting standards and operates reliably. Working as part of a dedicated team, you'll contribute directly to the smooth function of our facility and the quality of our deliverables.

Core Duties

• Install, assemble, and configure pipe systems according to engineering specifications and detailed blueprints
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using specialized hand tools and machinery
• Pressure test completed piping installations to verify leak-free operation and system integrity
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on existing piping infrastructure
• Diagnose system failures and implement repairs to restore full functionality
• Coordinate with other trades and departments to maintain safe work schedules
• Document work activities and maintain strict compliance with safety protocols

Skills & Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman Pipe Fitter certification or equivalent state-recognized credential
• Proficiency with standard pipe fitting hand tools and power equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints
• Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and occupational safety regulations
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving ability
• Physical capability to lift heavy materials, work at heights, and remain on your feet for extended shifts
• Reliable transportation to the Beltsville worksite
