Operations Controller

Position Summary

As Operations Controller, you'll sit at the heart of our operational heartbeat, overseeing the financial and procedural frameworks that keep our services running smoothly. You'll work closely with site managers, finance teams, and senior leadership to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and ensure every aspect of our operations meets our standards for quality and cost-effectiveness. This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on problem-solving, requiring someone who can analyse data, communicate findings clearly, and drive actionable change across the business.

Core Duties

• Monitor operational metrics and key performance indicators across sites, identifying trends and areas for improvement
• Manage operational budgets, forecast costs, and track expenditure against approved financial plans
• Conduct process audits and recommend enhancements to streamline workflows and reduce waste
• Prepare detailed reports for management, translating operational data into strategic insights
• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and implement control measures
• Support the rollout of new procedures and systems, ensuring smooth adoption across teams
• Maintain documentation standards and ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an operations, finance, or controller role, ideally within food service, hospitality, or a comparable sector
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard business software
• Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and cost control
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present findings to non-financial audiences
• Attention to detail and organisational capability to manage multiple priorities
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) essential; accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, or similar) desirable
