About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential education technology client in their search for a Faculty Success & Instructional Designer. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with educators, combining instructional design expertise with hands-on faculty engagement in a fast-growing organization.

Unlike traditional behind-the-scenes instructional design roles, you'll serve as a trusted partner to professors throughout their entire journey—from initial conversations through course launch and ongoing success. You'll bridge the gap between educational vision and technology implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in discovery conversations and product demonstrations with faculty members
  • Understand professors' current teaching methods, goals, and how digital tools can enhance their courses
  • Guide professors in translating existing course content and teaching approaches to new platforms
  • Lead faculty onboarding, course setup, instructional design, and platform training
  • Manage implementation timelines, commitments, and potential obstacles proactively
  • Provide post-launch support and drive successful adoption of digital course experiences
  • Identify opportunities to improve and expand successful course implementations
  • Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with internal teams when additional support is needed
  • Take ownership of professor success from initial engagement through sustained adoption

What We're Looking For

Core Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of education culture and how educators think, work, and make decisions
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly and explain it simply to non-technical users
  • Comfort working in an entrepreneurial environment where you'll help build processes, not just follow them
  • Willingness to challenge traditional approaches and explore new methodologies

Preferred Background (one or more of the following):

  • Experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning design
  • Background in sales, customer success, implementation, or training roles
  • Classroom teaching experience in K-12 or higher education
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms or education technology
  • Experience working with software or technology products

Essential Characteristics:

  • Takes ownership of outcomes and solves problems proactively
  • Exceptional follow-through managing multiple commitments and deadlines
  • Hands-on approach; willing to execute detailed work, not just advise
  • Can teach complex concepts simply without overwhelming people
  • Comfortable making respectful recommendations and guiding decision-making
  • Coachable and able to incorporate feedback quickly
  • Learns software quickly and troubleshoots effectively
  • Humble and curious; asks questions before jumping to solutions
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what's needed for success
