About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential government services organization seeking a Systems Engineer to join their technical team in the United States. Our client needs someone who can drive solution development, tackle complex technical challenges, and collaborate across engineering and support teams to deliver mission-critical infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role where you'll design, validate, and integrate technical solutions of varying complexity. You'll work alongside delivery teams to build component and enterprise-level solutions while providing tier 3 support on production systems.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand and document specific system requirements
  • Perform technical implementation tasks and ensure on-schedule delivery of project work
  • Troubleshoot technical issues throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Provide design concepts and time estimates for custom solutions to support teams and end users
  • Identify cost-effective solutions that lower operational costs and streamline processes
  • Create presentations, technical reports, and white papers to communicate project information
  • Develop models and simulations to analyze system performance under different operating conditions
  • Create comprehensive documentation including standard configurations, operating procedures, and administration guides
  • Provide subject matter expertise and lead tier 3 support on critical production issues

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years total experience with at least 3 years in a Systems Engineering role
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation
  • SharePoint Online administration experience
  • Windows administration, security, and configuration management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 products (Word, Excel, Visio) for documentation
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google)
  • PowerShell or similar Windows scripting experience
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and solve complex problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems
  • Microsoft Certifications on Azure or Windows Server (2016 or later)
  • ITIL version 3 certification
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and/or VS Code
  • Experience with GitHub and/or Git
  • Knowledge of NetBackup, SQL, UNIX, Red Hat Linux, or automation tools
  • Enterprise storage design/operation and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
  • SCCM, SCOM, vSphere 8/9, and SAN support/administration
  • Cloud applications experience: OneDrive, PowerBI
  • Project management experience
  • IT incident management software experience (ServiceNow)
