RN – Operating Room

Gove County Medical Center seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for our Operating Room in Quinter, Gove County. This part-time RN - Operating Room position supports our surgical services team in delivering safe, quality patient care within the operating room environment.

About This Position

Join Gove County Medical Center's surgical services as an Operating Room Nurse in a part-time role. You'll be a vital member of our OR team, working in the surgical suite to support surgical excellence, assist our surgical teams, and contribute to positive patient outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful clinical work while maintaining schedule flexibility appropriate for a part-time nursing role.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists during operative procedures
• Prepare the operating room with necessary surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Monitor and assess patient condition throughout surgical interventions
• Maintain sterile technique and support infection control best practices
• Facilitate smooth communication and coordination among surgical team members
• Document clinical observations, procedures, and patient responses accurately
• Provide compassionate care to patients before, during, and after surgery
• Respond promptly to clinical needs and changes in patient status

Skills & Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing (BSN or ADN)
• Understanding of operating room procedures, surgical safety, and aseptic technique
• Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, time-sensitive surgical environment
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Dedication to patient safety, privacy, and quality outcomes
• Operating room experience strongly preferred; training available for qualified candidates
