Yard Technician

EquipmentShare is hiring a Yard Technician for our Milwaukee, Milwaukee County location. As a full-time team member, you'll play a critical role in keeping our rental operations running smoothly, maintaining equipment to the highest standards, and supporting contractors who depend on reliable access to quality tools and machinery.

Position Summary

The Yard Technician position is essential to our Milwaukee facility's daily operations. You'll maintain equipment integrity, organize our yard for efficiency, and ensure every piece in our inventory meets our high standards before customer delivery. This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with operational focus, directly supporting the contractors and communities we serve.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair rental equipment to ensure operational safety and reliability
• Clean, service, and prepare equipment for delivery and customer pickups
• Organize and manage yard inventory to maximize space and accessibility
• Load and unload equipment from customer transactions and deliveries
• Document equipment condition, maintenance work, and repair history accurately
• Identify equipment damage, defects, or maintenance needs and coordinate repairs
• Support the rental team with yard operations to maintain smooth customer service
• Maintain a safe, organized yard environment and follow all safety protocols

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with equipment maintenance, repair, or yard operations preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to lift, carry, and position heavy equipment safely
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment quality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and willingness to meet operational needs
• Valid driver's license preferred
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred
