What This Role Involves

As a Limited Duration Policy Analyst at Oregon Consumer Justice, you'll support our State Policy Director in developing, advancing, and communicating policy initiatives that serve consumers and underrepresented communities. Based in Portland, Multnomah County, you'll coordinate with our team at Kiln Coworking Space (1120 SE Madison St, Portland, OR 97214) with occasional in-person meetings required. Your work will contribute to policy research, advocacy strategy, and stakeholder engagement as we advance consumer protections across Oregon.

Core Duties

• Conduct research on consumer protection issues, policy trends, and legislative opportunities
• Support the development of policy proposals and advocacy materials
• Collaborate with stakeholders, community partners, and policymakers to advance consumer justice initiatives
• Monitor regulatory and legislative developments relevant to our mission
• Assist in drafting reports, briefs, and communications to support advocacy efforts
• Participate in meetings and events to build coalitions and strengthen partnerships

Who We're Looking For

• Experience in policy analysis, government relations, advocacy, or a related field
• Strong research, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment
• Understanding of consumer protection, social justice, or related policy areas
• Proficiency with standard office tools and data management
• Availability for occasional in-person meetings at our Portland location
