Adjunct Instructor – Nursing

Edgecombe Community College, located in Tarboro, Edgecombe County, seeks a Part-Time Adjunct Instructor – Nursing to join our faculty. About the Role

As an Adjunct Instructor – Nursing at Edgecombe Community College's Rocky Mount campus, you'll play a vital role in clinical nursing education. This part-time position requires scheduling flexibility to accommodate clinical instruction needs. You'll deliver hands-on teaching, direct student supervision, and comprehensive evaluation within the clinical learning environment, preparing students for success in their nursing careers. The ideal candidate brings clinical expertise and a commitment to nursing education excellence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Teach nursing theory and clinical skills to associate degree and practical nursing students
• Supervise and mentor students during clinical rotations and laboratory sessions
• Evaluate student performance, competency, and learning outcomes in clinical settings
• Maintain current nursing practice standards and clinical facility compliance
• Adapt scheduling to support varying clinical educational needs and program requirements
• Contribute to the development and delivery of quality nursing education

Skills & Qualifications

• Current CPR certification
• Annual tuberculosis (TB) skin test compliance
• Hepatitis B series completion or signed declination
• Additional clinical facility requirements as needed
• Nursing education experience and strong clinical knowledge
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills
• Ability to work flexibly to accommodate clinical scheduling demands
