Senior Civil Construction Inspector

Resource International is seeking a Senior Civil Construction Inspector for our Columbus, Franklin County office. In this full-time position, you'll oversee construction activities and ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety standards on a variety of civil engineering projects.

About the Role

As a Senior Civil Construction Inspector with Resource International, you'll take on a leadership role within our construction inspection team. This position is ideal for an experienced professional ready to apply expertise in monitoring construction quality, coordinating with contractors and project managers, and maintaining the highest standards on every project we deliver across the region.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive site inspections and document construction progress against approved plans and specifications
• Verify compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and design engineers to resolve issues and ensure schedule adherence
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain complete project documentation
• Supervise construction crews and subcontractors to ensure work quality and safety standards are met
• Perform material testing and quality assurance checks on concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials
• Mentor junior inspectors and contribute to team training and development

Requirements

• Valid state certification or license as a Construction Inspector or equivalent professional credential
• 5+ years of hands-on construction inspection experience on civil projects
• Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, and construction standards
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency with inspection software and digital documentation tools
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits throughout Franklin County and beyond
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and climb to elevated areas when required
