About This Position

Wasabi Sushi Bar is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to contribute to a busy, successful kitchen operation. In this part-time role, you'll prepare authentic sushi, sashimi, and Japanese cuisine alongside experienced culinary professionals. You'll be responsible for maintaining high standards of food preparation and safety while working efficiently to meet service demands. This position is ideal for someone passionate about Japanese cuisine who wants to develop their line cook expertise in a restaurant that prioritizes quality and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi rice, proteins, vegetables, and other ingredients to exact specifications and recipes
• Execute food preparation at your assigned station with speed and accuracy during service
• Collaborate with the Chef and Sous Chef to ensure all dishes meet restaurant standards
• Implement proper food safety and sanitation procedures throughout your shift
• Assist with mise en place setup, ingredient prep, and station organization
• Maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and workspace cleanliness according to health codes
• Monitor inventory and alert management to supply and equipment needs

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a line cook, kitchen prep cook, or in a similar culinary role
• Understanding of food safety standards and sanitation best practices
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced kitchen
• Strong teamwork and communication with kitchen staff and management
• Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation
• Physical capability to stand, move, and lift throughout shifts (up to 50 pounds)
• Reliability and punctuality for scheduled part-time shifts
