About the Role
As a solo 1099 contract driver, you will haul dry van freight on over-the-road (OTR) routes, covering an average of roughly 3,000 to 4,200 miles each week. The position offers gross weekly pay averaging between $1,500 and $1,700, along with a $1,800 sign-on bonus. Less-than-truckload (LTL) freight earns an additional 10%. This is a full-time engagement built for drivers who are comfortable with extended time on the road and value consistent freight.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a dry van on solo OTR lanes safely and on schedule.
- Handle driver load and unload duties as required by the freight.
- Maintain compliance with hours-of-service and all applicable transportation regulations.
- Plan routes to meet delivery commitments while sustaining target weekly mileage.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding loads, status, and home time.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license.
- No license restrictions for (L, Z) air brakes or (G) night driving.
- Willingness to stay out for an expected 7 to 10 days at a time.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently as a 1099 contractor.
Home Time
Drivers earn two days of home time for every seven days worked. Expected time on the road runs 7 to 10 days per cycle. Please note that weekends home are not guaranteed.
