GM and Food (General Merchandise, Closing, Fulfillment, Inbound, Food and Beverage , Food Service, Starbucks)

Target is hiring a General Merchandise and Food associate for our Southington, Hartford County location. This full-time position starts at $17.75 per hour and spans multiple critical store functions—from merchandise receiving and fulfillment to closing operations and food service, including Starbucks.

Position Summary

You'll be instrumental in keeping Target's operations running smoothly across our general merchandise, fulfillment, inbound, and food and beverage departments. This versatile role combines the analytical side of store logistics with the customer-facing excellence that defines the Target experience. You'll manage the complete journey of merchandise from receiving dock to sales floor, execute efficient closing procedures, fulfill guest orders accurately, and uphold food safety standards in our food service and Starbucks areas. Success here means mastering competing priorities, owning your process improvements, and building a reputation as someone teammates and guests can rely on.

What You'll Do

• Receive, inspect, and stock inbound merchandise shipments with accuracy and speed
• Pick, pack, and prepare guest orders for shipment as part of our fulfillment operation
• Execute closing routines, including securing merchandise, auditing inventory, and readying the store for the next business day
• Prepare and serve food and beverage items, including Starbucks offerings, while maintaining all food safety standards
• Monitor inventory levels, identify discrepancies, and communicate stock needs to leadership
• Deliver responsive guest service and troubleshoot questions across all department areas
• Collaborate with your team to solve operational challenges and continuously improve store processes

Qualifications

• Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and closing shifts
• Strong interpersonal skills and genuine enthusiasm for supporting guests and teammates
• Physical capability to stand throughout your shift, lift regularly (up to 25 lbs), and move around the store
• Consistent attendance and a track record of punctuality and dependability
• For food service duties: willingness to obtain required food handling credentials and strict adherence to food safety protocols
• Quick learner who adapts readily to shifting demands and takes ownership of solutions
