EVS/Culinary Assistant Director – Relocation Assistance Available

HHS is hiring a full-time Environmental Services and Culinary Assistant Director to lead operations and develop team members at our Statesville location in Iredell County. This position includes relocation assistance for the right candidate.

About This Position

As Assistant Director of EVS and Culinary operations, you will oversee daily service delivery while building a high-performing department culture. You'll report to your direct supervisor and collaborate across teams to maintain service quality, safety, and operational excellence. This hands-on leadership role combines strategic oversight with direct engagement—managing schedules, coaching staff, and ensuring standards are met. Your influence will shape how our team serves our organization and the communities we support.

Core Duties

• Lead, mentor, and develop team members through training, performance coaching, and constructive feedback
• Create and manage schedules, work assignments, and staffing plans to meet operational needs
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and service delivery standards
• Recruit and hire team members who align with HHS values and departmental goals
• Foster a positive work environment built on respect, open communication, and shared accountability
• Partner with your manager and peers—embracing feedback and contributing to continuous improvement
• Support department initiatives and organizational strategic objectives

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience managing teams in environmental services, culinary, or related institutional settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop staff
• Commitment to quality standards, safety compliance, and operational excellence
• Ability to learn quickly, respond to feedback, and approach challenges with openness and flexibility
• Experience with scheduling tools, facility inspections, and healthcare or institutional service environments preferred
