Assistant Director of Environmental Services

HHS is hiring an Assistant Director of Environmental Services for our Jacksonville, Cherokee County facility. This full-time leadership position oversees daily operations, manages a dedicated team, and ensures our environmental services maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance.

About the Role

As Assistant Director of Environmental Services, you'll share responsibility for directing sanitation and housekeeping operations across our organization. You'll work directly with the Environmental Services Director while independently managing team performance, quality standards, and operational priorities that impact facility health and safety.

What You'll Do

• Lead, train, and develop environmental services team members; manage work assignments, schedules, and performance expectations
• Conduct daily inspections and assessments of facility cleanliness, maintenance standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations
• Recruit, interview, and onboard team members whose values align with our commitment to quality and respect
• Coach and counsel team members on performance improvement, professional development, and workplace conduct
• Foster a team environment rooted in morale, engagement, quality work, and mutual respect
• Remain open to learning and collaboration; stay informed on industry best practices and regulatory changes
• Support the Director in budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning for environmental services

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in environmental services, housekeeping operations, or facility management leadership
• Strong ability to supervise, motivate, and develop team members
• Knowledge of health and safety standards, infection control, and regulatory compliance relevant to facility operations
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to perform physically demanding inspections and assessments
