About This Position
As the Mariachi Teacher in South San Antonio Independent School District, you'll serve as the creative and instructional leader of our Mariachi program. This full-time, exempt position reports to the school principal and operates on the district's standard teacher compensation scale. You'll shape the musical, cultural, and personal development of students through authentic Mariachi instruction and performance opportunities.
Core Duties
- Lead all aspects of Mariachi instruction and ensemble direction, from curriculum design to rehearsal management
- Organize and oversee student performance opportunities, competitions, and cultural events
- Create an inclusive learning environment where students of all skill levels can develop musicianship and cultural pride
- Maintain full compliance with state education standards, University Interscholastic League (UIL) requirements, and district policies
