About the Role
The Behavior Specialist position is part of our Early Childhood Department, working under the leadership of the Director of Early Childhood and Building Principal. This full-time, 210-day position focuses on delivering targeted behavioral support to students through positive, proactive intervention strategies. You'll be instrumental in creating environments where students can develop social-emotional skills and succeed behaviorally in the classroom and beyond.
What You'll Do
- Implement positive behavior support systems that help students develop appropriate behavioral patterns
- Conduct and coordinate functional behavioral assessments to identify underlying causes of challenging behaviors
- Work with individual students, classroom groups, and school systems to apply evidence-based intervention strategies
- Collaborate with educators and administrators to integrate behavioral supports across school settings
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on behavioral data and response to support
- Support professional development for staff on behavior management best practices
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated expertise in positive behavior support frameworks and intervention planning
- Strong knowledge of functional assessment principles and behavioral analysis
- Experience working with students in early childhood or K-12 school environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Commitment to creating inclusive, supportive learning environments
- Valid Texas teaching certificate or behavioral specialist credentials preferred
