What This Role Involves

As a Live Haul Driver at Koch Foods, you'll operate specialized CDL trucks and live-haul trailers carrying poultry on scheduled routes throughout the region. Your work directly supports agriculture and food production by ensuring birds arrive at processing facilities in optimal condition. Responsibilities

• Safely transport live poultry from farms to processing facilities using CDL-equipped trucks and trailers
• Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation
• Properly secure and balance loads to protect cargo integrity
• Minimize bird stress and mortality through careful driving and load management techniques
• Maintain strict adherence to biosecurity protocols to prevent disease spread
• Follow all animal welfare standards and regulations during transport
• Keep accurate records of routes, mileage, and delivery times
• Communicate with farm managers and processing facility staff regarding pickups and deliveries

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class
• Clean driving record and ability to pass DOT physical and background screening
• Knowledge of animal handling and welfare principles
• Experience with live haul operations or willingness to receive on-the-job training
• Understanding of biosecurity requirements in agricultural transport
• Strong mechanical aptitude for vehicle pre and post-trip inspections
• Reliability and ability to work flexible hours as operational needs require
