Sedgwick is hiring a Liability Litigation Claims Examiner in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, NC. This full-time position offers an opportunity to join a major global claims management company as part of your career in the insurance and claims industry.

Position Summary

As a Liability Litigation Claims Examiner at Sedgwick, you'll evaluate and manage complex liability claims spanning litigation, premise liability, auto, business interruption, and product liability matters. You'll review claim files, assess coverage and liability exposure, coordinate with legal counsel, and make recommendations that protect both claimants and carriers throughout the litigation process. Your analytical skills and industry knowledge will drive efficient claim resolution while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

Your Responsibilities

• Review and analyze liability claim files for litigation, premise, auto, business interruption, and product liability cases
• Assess liability exposure, damages, and coverage issues based on policy language and legal precedent
• Communicate with claimants, medical providers, and legal representatives to gather necessary information
• Prepare detailed claim evaluations and recommendations for claim settlement or litigation strategy
• Coordinate with in-house and outside counsel on claim defense and resolution
• Monitor claim status, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies
• Identify trends and patterns in claims data to support process improvements

Who We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience handling liability claims in litigation, premise liability, auto, business interruption, and/or product liability
• Strong understanding of coverage analysis, liability determination, and damages assessment
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with ability to work effectively with internal teams and external partners
• Familiarity with claims management software and database systems
• Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Detail-oriented approach with commitment to accuracy and regulatory compliance
• High school diploma or equivalent required; insurance, claims, or paralegal experience preferred
