Vylla Title is seeking a National Title Examination Specialist to work remotely from anywhere in the United States, supporting our title services operations from our Washington, D.C. headquarters. In this full-time role, you'll be the cornerstone of our title examination process, ensuring clear, insurable property titles for real estate transactions coast to coast.
Role Overview
As a National Title Examination Specialist at Vylla Title, you conduct meticulous reviews of title searches and examine property records to identify, resolve, and clear title defects before issuance of title insurance policies. Your work directly enables smooth real estate closings and protects property owners across purchase transactions, refinance operations, and equity lending scenarios.
What You'll Do
- Examine and analyze national title search reports to identify liens, encumbrances, judgments, and other title issues
- Conduct thorough title clearance reviews and determine the path to an insurable title
- Prepare and communicate title examination findings to underwriters, agents, and clients with clarity and precision
- Coordinate with external parties to resolve title defects, including obtaining lien releases, judgments, and legal documentation
- Apply underwriting guidelines and title policy provisions to each transaction
- Maintain detailed examination notes and documentation for compliance and audit purposes
- Support the efficient processing and closing of residential and commercial real estate transactions nationwide
Qualifications
- Proven experience in title examination, title search review, or title underwriting
- Strong understanding of real estate law, property titles, liens, and title insurance fundamentals
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in complex legal documents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with title examination software and standard office technology
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
