What This Role Involves

As a Research Technician I, you'll be at the heart of our research operations, providing essential technical and administrative support to faculty and graduate research teams. This full-time position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic academic research environment while contributing to meaningful scientific discovery and innovation across our Rochester laboratories.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory procedures and experiments under the direction of senior researchers and faculty
• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, reagents, and workspaces according to established protocols
• Collect, organize, document, and assist in analyzing research data with accuracy and precision
• Maintain detailed, accurate records of experiments, observations, and results
• Follow all laboratory safety protocols and contribute to a culture of compliance and continuous improvement
• Assist with literature reviews, data entry, and preparation of research materials and presentations
• Support the coordination of research activities and communicate effectively with research team members

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain precise records
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
• Willingness to learn new technical skills and laboratory methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Prior laboratory experience or relevant coursework is a plus
