Join Cooperative Association for Special Education as a full-time Job Coach supporting students in Glenbard Township High School District 87. This is a 10-month position offering meaningful work in career development and vocational training for students with special needs.
Position Summary
As a Job Coach with Cooperative Association for Special Education, you'll work directly with students in our Cooperative Work Training program, helping them develop workplace skills and transition to meaningful employment. This full-time support role is based at Glenbard D87 and runs from August through May, spanning 180 work days. Your expertise in job coaching and student support will make a real difference in preparing students for success in the workforce.
Core Duties
- Coordinate and oversee the Office of Rehabilitation STEP Program, ensuring smooth operations and student access to resources
- Provide direct coaching and mentoring to students enrolled in the Cooperative Work Training Class, guiding them through job skills development
- Assess student progress, identify individual strengths and support needs, and adapt coaching strategies accordingly
Who We're Looking For
- Experience working with students, particularly those with special education needs or developmental differences
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse learners
- Knowledge of vocational training, workplace readiness, or job coaching methodologies
- Ability to work collaboratively within a school environment and coordinate with program partners
- Commitment to supporting student independence and employment success
