Wayne County Schools Employment Network is hiring a Secondary Mathematics Teacher to join its high school faculty in Michigan. This is a full-time position available to begin August 24, 2026.
About the Role
As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, you'll deliver engaging instruction to high school students, building strong foundational and advanced mathematical skills across algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, or other secondary mathematics courses. You'll create a dynamic classroom environment that supports student learning, achievement, and mathematical thinking.
What You'll Do
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned mathematics lessons to high school students
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Manage classroom operations and maintain a productive learning environment
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues about academic progress
- Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives
- Collaborate with other mathematics educators and support staff
What We're Looking For
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate in Mathematics or eligible for certification
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of secondary mathematics content and pedagogical methods
- Ability to engage diverse learners and adapt instruction
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement
