PreK Summer School Program – Special Education / Psychologists

Join Cape Henlopen School District as a Special Education professional or school psychologist for our PreK Summer School Program this June through August. This is a full-time position serving young learners across our district's summer education initiative at Sussex Consortium and other designated sites.

About the Role

We're seeking qualified special education teachers and school psychologists to support our PreK Summer School Program. This full-time summer position runs from June 24 through August 6, Monday through Thursday, with hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. You'll provide direct instruction, assessment, and psychological support to PreK students in a specialized summer learning environment designed to help every child succeed academically and developmentally.

What You'll Do

• Deliver differentiated instruction and individualized support tailored to each PreK student's learning profile
• Assess student learning progress and adjust instructional approaches based on student needs and responses
• Partner with classroom educators and support staff to foster inclusive and welcoming learning spaces
• Provide counseling, behavioral guidance, and social-emotional support as needed
• Document student progress, observations, and developmental milestones accurately
• Engage families through regular communication about student growth and achievements
• Participate in all mandatory training days required for program quality and compliance

What We're Looking For

• Current Delaware certification in special education or school psychology
• Demonstrated experience working with PreK and early childhood populations
• In-depth knowledge of early childhood development and instruction methods
• Ability to connect with young learners and build trust with families
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication abilities
• Genuine passion for supporting students with varying abilities and learning needs
