What You'll Do

• Interpret testimony, court arguments, and legal proceedings with accuracy and impartiality
• Provide consecutive and other forms of interpretation as required by court operations
• Bridge language gaps between court officials and individuals whose primary language is not English
• Enable all court participants—litigants, witnesses, and members of the public—to comprehend proceedings and communicate effectively
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all court proceedings and sensitive information
• Uphold professional interpreter standards and ethical guidelines in all interactions
• Respond flexibly to court scheduling demands, working both assigned hours and on an as-needed basis
• Perform other court-related duties as directed by the court

What We're Looking For

• Fluency in English and at least one additional language commonly used in legal proceedings
• Professional certification or demonstrated expertise in court or legal interpretation
• Exceptional listening, speaking, and accuracy skills, particularly when interpreting complex legal content under pressure
• Sound knowledge of court procedures, legal terminology, and professional interpreter ethics
• Ability to maintain impartiality and work effectively within sensitive legal situations
• Reliable and flexible approach to scheduling and court demands
