About the Role
As Assistant Wrestling Coach at NC State University, you'll work alongside our coaching staff to mentor athletes in technique, strategy, and match preparation. Your contributions will span direct coaching, athlete development, recruitment support, and program logistics—all critical to sustaining our competitive standards in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
What You'll Do
- Coach wrestlers on technical fundamentals, match strategy, and competitive performance
- Design and deliver training programs emphasizing conditioning, strength development, and skill progression
- Assist with recruiting qualified student-athletes to the program
- Prepare wrestlers for regular-season meets and tournament competition
- Support team travel coordination and meet logistics
- Foster athlete development, safety compliance, and NCAA regulatory adherence
- Collaborate with head coach and athletic department staff
What We're Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of coaching experience with collegiate wrestling programs
- Master's degree preferred
- Strong command of wrestling technique, rules, and competitive standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to athlete safety, development, and NCAA compliance
- Flexibility to work beyond standard hours—evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for practices and competitions
Work Schedule
This position maintains a standard Monday through Friday schedule, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus additional hours for evening practices, weekend meets, and holiday tournament participation.
