Associate Director, Environmental, Health & Safety

About the Role

This Associate Director position centers on strategic environmental, health, and safety projects that shape facility design and engineering decisions. You'll serve as the key EHS liaison between project teams and leadership, ensuring that compliance and best practices are built into every phase of our operations—from initial design through manufacturing. This is a cross-functional role that bridges technical expertise with operational innovation.

What You'll Do

• Act as the primary EHS liaison between project stakeholders, operations teams, and leadership to translate safety requirements into design specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, and Project Management to integrate EHS considerations into facility design and capital projects
• Lead and oversee strategic EHS projects that strengthen our North Chicago facility's environmental and safety performance
• Partner with global EHS teams to align local initiatives with company-wide standards and emerging industry practices
• Develop comprehensive EHS strategies that reduce operational risk and support continuous improvement
• Guide cross-functional teams in embedding EHS principles into engineering and manufacturing decision-making processes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in EHS management or strategic EHS project work
• Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple organizational levels and functions
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and industrial safety practices
• Proven experience integrating EHS into capital projects, facility design, or process engineering initiatives
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex EHS concepts for diverse audiences
• Project management experience and comfort working in matrixed, collaborative team environments
